Dr. Knapp holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from York University. Growing up in Athens, Ontario, he played competitive hockey most of his life where he developed a keen interest in sports medicine. This interest led him to further his studies at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto where he graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic with clinic honors in 2010.
In addition to Philip's chiropractic education, he has completed several soft tissue courses (Active Release Technique®, Graston Technique®, FAKTR PM®, Functional Anatomical Palpation®, Integrated Therapeutics®) and Contemporary Medical Acupuncture at McMaster University. Most recently, Phil became certified as a Complete Concussion Management™ practitioner making ACHC an official Complete Concussion Management™ certified clinic.
While at York, Phil played for the men's varsity hockey team, was an Academic All-Canadian and an alternate captain. During his fourth year with the team, Phil was selected to represent Canada at the 2005 Winter Universiade held in Innsbruck, Austria as a member of the men's hockey team.
After graduating from CMCC in 2010, Dr. Knapp worked at a multidisciplinary sports medicine clinic in Toronto where he worked with numerous organizations including:
- Ryerson University Men’s Varsity Hockey Club – Team Chiropractor
- Markham Waxers Junior A Hockey Club
- Toronto Metro Wildcats Football Club
- The Skating Lab - Sport specific training for hockey players
- Toronto Royals Midget Hockey Team
Phil and his wife, Kristina, are happy to have become a part of this wonderful community since making the move to Arnprior in 2012. In February 2014, Phil and Kristina welcomed the arrival of their first child, Ashton.
Phil is motivated to work with all levels of athletes and those seeking an active, healthy lifestyle. He is excited to become entrenched in the Arnprior athletic community and to help the local athletes and teams enhance their athletic performance and stay healthy.
